HERE’S WHAT’S IN IT
¼ cup of roasted peanuts
1 cup of toasted sesame seeds
¾ cup of light brown sugar
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of grated ginger
2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon of grated nutmeg
½ teaspoon of star anise extract
¼ cup of water
½ teaspoon of salt
large nonstick saucepan
parchment paper or nonstick baking mat
THIS IS HOW IT’S MADE
STEP 1.
Add the water, sugar, vanilla extract, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and anise star extract to the saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
STEP 2.
Add the sesame peanuts and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes or until mixture has thickened.
STEP 3.
Remove the pan from the heat and continue to stir until the liquid has evaporated and the mixture is sticky.
STEP 4.
Using a spoon place 6 large rectangular shape amounts on the parchment paper of nonstick backing mat. Allow mixture to cool completely before serving.
